I know I keep saying this at the beginning of every post but this time it really is a case of ‘My last post was HOW LONG AGO?’

It truly is a disgrace that I haven’t written in so long…but I knew from day one that if I was going to start a blog then I’d end up abandoning it for indefinite periods-that’s just how I’ve always been with diaries. I leave it for a while then too much has happened to sit down and write a post and it just gets harder as time goes on…so in order to start a fresh, I’ll just tough on the main points and hopefully we’ll get rolling again!

So, last time I wrote it was 3 weeks until the Big Band concert and I was getting all geed up about beginning rehearsals for the Royal Albert Hall…well, now it is getting on for 3 and a half months SINCE the RAH show!!

Well, Big Band went really well. I remember it all being a bit of a mad panic at rehearsals to get ourselves ready (isn’t it always?) but we had a whole lot of fun and I got to do the show again in Leeds where they were low on numbers so that was fab! First auditions for the RAH coincided with that show and eventually I decided to sing For Good from Wicked which I think was the right decision, as to cut a long story short, I got through both that and a more intense second round in Leeds and was given an ensemble solo part in Hail Holy Queen (Sister Act.) I didn’t expect it at all and I was so so chuffed. We had an awful lot of fun rehearsing for that show, especially the soloists. Despite being from all over the country, the long rehearsals in locations where we had to travel far and wide bought us quite close. Many of us are still in touch via facebook. It made the experience all the better as we all ended up a bit of a unit who were sharing something really exciting. I also was later given another part doing backing vocals for one of the soloists who is singing Somebody to Love (We Will Rock You) which was a challenge in cramming all kinds of 6-way harmonies but I loved every minute of it and was absolutely thrilled to have another part to sing.

The show itself was AMAZING. It was honestly one of the best nights of my life. It meant so much to me that so many people came to watch when it was a Sunday and I wasn’t sure they’d be able to. We probably about half to 2/3 packed the place out which wasn’t bad. Everything went really well and I was on a high for about a month afterwards!

We’re rehearsing for the next Merseyside show in Feb now, which has some of the RAH stuff and a whole lot of Disney I’m doing my Hail Holy Queen bit again, plus an ensemble of Seasons of Love from Rent. I’ m made up about this, as my audition didn’t quite go as planned this time around!

Soooo…other news. Just had a very lovely Christmas and New Year. I got sooo many presents this year- including a beautiful, shiny netbook from Jon, on which I’m typing right now! The hols flewwww by and now, I’m suddenly slap, bang back at work again. Work’s going well. There have been some changes for me there recently but it’s all looking quite positive for the New Year. We’ve had crazy snow here lately! We got sent home early yesterday and I was a bit concerned about how I was going to get in this morning…but I had a mahoosive migraine attack yesterday afternoon, which I’m still suffering from so I’m typing from my bed of pain (lol) rather than being in the office.

Ooh, I should review my new years resolutions for 09 and make a record of the new ones! Let’s see:

1) Lose weight and get fitter. Well, I started off well on this one, and I was on good form around the summer. However, I have ended the year having put on plenty- thus making this a resolution all over again!

2) Start singing lessons and keep them up all year. Didn’t manage to keep them up all year- but that was due to financial difficulties recently. I did pretty well on this.

3) Do at least 3 singing performances- I can tick this one off- I did 4 Sing Live shows!

4) Write more and submit at least 3 short stories into contests. No, I failed here- I lost my flair a bit and doubted the security of some contests that I hoped to enter.

5) Find a job that I love- Well, it may not be my absolute dream job, but it’s a nice job that I’m getting better at and it brings in the moolah I can’t complain.

6) See Les Miserables in London- tick!

7) Wear eyeliner more-lol, what was with this one?! Still, I think I achieved it!

8 ) Keep this blog updated and improve the site- haha, well we all know I didn’t do too well on the first bit…but I didn improve the site somewhat I like to think!

So, I did….ok!

Here are my NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS 2010:

1) Lose weight and get fitter. (lol)

2) Work towards and pass Grade 5 Music Theory.

3) Keep performing

4) Do more artwork and get more involved with threadless.com (see below)

5) Worry less!

…I think that may be it for this year??

To finish off, I shall tell you about threadless.com- which I plan to put in the links section soon. I was introduced to it on NYE by Tom, who was sporting a t-shirt he’d bough from there. In short, it’s a great site whereby users design t-shirt slogans and graphics which are then voted for by other users. From this voting, the guys at Threadless then decide which designs they will print, offering $2000 in return for successful designs! They also run more specific contests which offer more prize money. Love it!

So, I’m going to wrap it up here for now as that’s the main news for now. I just want to touch on the fact that I wrote ages ago that I was going to start writing posts about things other than my news…and never did! Well, I still plan to do so…in fact, maybe that should be NY resolution no. 6!

Happy New Year!!

Sarah

…That’s me being a busy little bee lately!

Wow, before I had a job I thought I wasn’t doing enough stuff day to day-now I have to fit it all in around full-time employment I realise I was doing plenty!

The job is going fine. I’m definitely happy with it so far. Everyone’s nice and it’s a good little role to get my teeth into! There’s a lot of industry jargon that I’m having to get to grips with but I think I’m doing quite well…My role is Service Sales Administrator in the Additional Works Dept. I basically cost up engineers’ recommendations and send out quotes, follow up old quotes (of which there are many,) process orders, get prices from suppliers, order in the odd part and the like. I also do more general duties like answering the phone, sorting out the faxes etc etc. I’m looking forward to being able to do more on my own-at the moment I have to bug my poor manager every minute but that can’t really be helped in the early stages I guess…

Aside from work, which now takes up a whole lot of my time as you may be able to imagine, rehearsals for Big Band are becoming more frequent and more terrifying! There are only about 3 weeks to go and it feels like we still have a mass of work to do!! I’m delighted to inform that I have a solo part again! WOOOO I was so made up because there’s a severe shortage of parts this time and I really didn’t expect to be successful. I don’t have a full song, I have the introduction to Birth of the Blues but I really really like the part and it’s nice to have everyone kind of come in after my bit. Steve was so lovely at the last rehearsal…and I hate telling this story because it makes me sound really full of myself but I’m honestly just telling it because it meant so much and was so kind. Basically I rocked up to sing my bit and he says “You’ve caused me so much trouble!” and I was like “How come?” I thought he meant something to do with the sheet music because there’d been a mini mix up but then he said “Because you did such a good audition and I just didn’t have a full solo to give you, I’m really sorry.” and I was like “Oh my God no I love this part, I was chuffed to get anything!” lol I just thought that was such a lovely thing to say and it’s filled me with confidence. I love Steve! Although saying that, we have our first rehearsal with him today and I’m worried about what he’s going to say about how far along we sound because we are pretty behind. He’s the best for giving us a needed kick up the backside though so definitely glad of his presence today!

So yeah, Sing Live is keeping me busy. I have my audition for the Albert Hall concert next week too and I can’t believe that’s just around the corner. I’m having dilemmas about song choice…I kind of want to do I Dreamed a Dream but then I did On My Own from Les Mis for the last concert and I’d quite like to audition with something else this time. Other maybes are Wicked or Beauty and the Beast-I need to hurry up and decide. This one is major and I REALLY want it. Of course if I do get it I’ll have to do a second audition in Leeds and be up against Sing Live’s finest countrywide-eeshk!

I did another audition on Thursday too! Barbara from SL informed me of it the other week because she was auditioning to join BOST (Birkenhead Operatic Society Trust) and wanted to borrow some sheet music from me. I was going to audition for them some time ago but didn’t because the timing wasn’t quite right so I was keen to give it a go when she told me about it. It’s a well respected and high-standard society to join so I wasn’t sure I stood a chance but the audition experience out of the now quite familiar Sing Live seemed a good opportunity, even if it wasn’t to come to anything else. So I went along and sang On My Own to a panel of five. I managed to keep my cool quite well. I was definitely more nervous than I was for my last Sing Live aud for example and it wasn’t perfect, but sounded a lot better than the first time I sang On my Own (which was for my first SL audition.) I then had to do an exercise where I sang the higher or lower note of two that were played at the same time and I was asked a few questions and that was it. I came home and at around 10pm they called me and told me they’d like to see me again when their director is back and have their choreograher see if I can move at all (which I’m a bit worried about because I’m really not a dancer!) I still don’t have my hopes up but it was definitely a boost to get a callback and I really feel now that my singing must have improved-or at least my confidence in auditions, which is great! I’m a bit gutted though because if I do get in their next concert is a musicals one (YAY) but coincides with Albert Hall (BOO!) Nevermind, I would pick RAH given the choice.

That’s about all for now folks! Except that I’m getting PAIDDDDD next week and so will probably get upto a few fun things with mes amis! We’re going to Alton Towers on the 5th and I can’t WAIT! But I am going to try to keep some money in the account for the gazillion reasons that there are to do so. I bought a new mobile last week which was probably something that should have waited until payday but I got a really good deal and it’s SO much better than my old phone! It’s an LG KP501 Cookie and I love it! Couldn’t actually hear my little Samsung which caused me no end of frustration-amongst all the other things that were wrong with it! So aside from making up for that little extravangance, I need to tot up the overdrafts and eventually save up for the next few years! (and possibly for moving out in a few months!! More about that to follow…plans are all very much in the early stages-in fact it’s more an idea than a definite plan but exciting news at that! )

I hope everyone had a good Easter!! It’s weird because it doesn’t feel like I last posted all that long ago but it also feels like Easter was about 2 months ago now and I posted before that!

Not a whole lot happened over the Easter weekend-although I did make Jon an Easter egg hunt which was a good bit of silly fun! Other than that it was just the usual excessive chocolate eating really-speaking of which, check out the egg that Jon got me!!

Soon after Easter came the SITE RE-VAMP!! If you’ve visited before now, I’m sure you’ll have noticed the changes! I’m so so happy with how everything looks now-the layout is a little more sophisticated and user friendly I think! If you scroll down you will see that there is a keyword search bar in place and everything! The only thing that is now a little harder to locate perhaps, is the Penny Candy blog posts-just a reminder that there are in fact two blogs on the site. You are currently reading a post in the first and main ‘personal blog’ which is located on the homepage. There is also a fashion mini-blog on the site which you can read by clicking on ‘Penny Candy (Fashion Mini-blog)’ under categories on the right of the homepage and then clicking on the entry you wish to read. I have been working hard on the ‘Creative’ section of the site too of late and I am in the process of gathering plenty of material for you to enjoy. If you haven’t checked out what’s already there, give the ‘Creative’ tag a click right away!

The BEST news of late is that I HAVE BEEN OFFERED A JOB! I cannot tell you how happy I am about this, and not only is it a job-it’s one I really want! It’s with a really good company in an administrative role that has room for working up, gaining plenty of experience along the way. Not only that, but it’s local, full-time and permanent! Basically, everything I could have wanted! It feels almost too good to be true, I just hope I really enjoy it as well. I think I will just from the motivation of a role of my own, everything about it seems really positive so far anyway. I start next Tuesday so I really need to enjoy my last week off! It’s a little scary because after that it’s 20 days off a YEAR and full-time graft! I think it’ll give me a bit of a jolt but in a good way! Hello early mornings! lol

I got word of my success in getting the job on Friday on my way to London, which made it all even better! Jon and I travelled down there to see Wicked before Kerry Ellis leaves on the 11th. Disappointingly however, Kerry wasn’t there! We saw Ashleigh Gray, who was really wonderful and I was excited to see her after my friend Grace saw her and said she was great, but I felt really sad for Jon who was crushed not to see Kerry We stayed over on Friday night in a really nice hotel, The Victoria Park Plaza, right up the road from Wicked (I have some pics which I’ll put up!) and then on Saturday, New Year’s Resolution number 6 was fulfilled (I’m so impressed at how well I’m sticking to my goals this year!) as we went to the matinee of Les Miserables. We were right at the front which was a really cool experience (the orchestra box was literally touching my feet!) and despite getting the odd shower from M. Thenardier (nice!) it’s made me really want to front-row it up at Wicked next time! I was really impressed by the girl playing Eponine in particular, as well as the guy playing Valjean. He had me in tears twice and Bring Him Home in my head the entire way home on Saturday evening-much to Jon’s despair!

Annnnd that’s where I’m upto pretty much-plans for this week include paying Pitman a visit to get everything wrapped up, shopping for some new work clothes (I have NO officewear…and also no money so don’t know how that one is going to pan out…) and then on Saturday I have my Sing Live Big Band audition!!! Aghhh…really hoping I can get a lesson in before that just to be prepared for the song-we’ll see!

By the way, I’m aware that I wrote that whole post about a new feel for the site content which hasn’t really come about yet…I still intend to vary the posts a bit and mix it up but as I’ve been paying more attention to form over content lately, it’s been overlooked a bit! Haven’t forgotten

Jon and I went for a nice little Sunday trip yesterday after reading in the paper that there were some baby Chihuahuas to go and visit at Greenacres. I had no idea to expect so much from there, it was a more of a mini zoo than your regular farm park. I believe I went there when I was little to feed some goats and lambs (which you can still do, along with hold rabbits, puppies, ducklings…etc!) but I had no idea that they’d have wallabies, porcupines and monkeys around-to name a few! It was a lovely day out, the icing on the cake being the Chis that attracted me there of course. I now want one more than ever! Too bad my Dad won’t go for it.

One day…

I think it would benefit from more article-type pieces and stuff on interesting things I find on the web, perhaps as well as opinions on specific events and topics- rather than fleetingly mentioning these things in what are becoming basic diary entries. My first blogging attempt seems to have taken a bit of a restrictive direction in simply giving my personal news. It’s a bit embarassing to admit that maybe my blog isn’t interesting enough because I’ve been talking too much about myself-lol …but that pretty much is what I’m saying and I’m going to be honest about it because I want my blog to be better. I should point out that I’m by no means saying I won’t include my news anymore, because I definitely will- I’m just planning to make it one component of several.

Sooooo, get ready for a bit of a new ‘feel.’ Hopefully, a bit of variety will spice things up around here, as well as resulting in more updates!

Probably about time I updated really…?!

Hahaha ohhhh I have left it so long-I’m always like that with this kind of thing. I set a pace at the beginning that I’m never ever going to keep up! But I’m here now eh?

STILL no job I was unsuccessful in another interview the other day and now seriously considering volunteering doing something relative for experience’s sake. I’m clinging on in there and trying to stay positive though-apply apply apply…

It’s a shame that I didn’t post anything right after the Back to the Musicals concert because I was on such a high after performing and I probably could have recounted it much better than I’ll be able to now…but basically-wow! It was such a fab experience. I really really loved it. So many friends came to see me and I was so chuffed. It made the whole thing that much more exciting and hightened the sense of achievement. It went well and I’m planning to buy some of the official photos soon to remember the occasion. Due to copyrights I don’t think I’ll be able to post them..but I have some backstage ones that I’ll put in the gallery. We’re into rehearsals for the next one yet which is Big Band and I’m enjoying it so far…feels kind of strange being right back at square one again. There’s a lot more material to cover this time as well! It’s a month today until the solo auditions I believe so I’m looking forward to that, although the competition is set to be a whole lot stiffer as there are only 6 solos planned for the entire show. I’ve ALSO sent off my applications to sing at the Royal Albert Hall in September, singing Musicals of the Silverscreen!! REALLY can’t wait for that one-should be fantastic! I’m praying my place is secured…

What else? As usual I’m sure I’m missing something important out? I can’t think…One bit of news is that I’ve been very proactive on the writing front, especially over the last few days as I’ve been feeling really unwell and unable to do much else! I don’t know whether I mentioned the river-themed short story contest I was entering before, but after severe writers block I was glad to finish my entry and meet the contest deadline. In truth, I would have liked to have done a little more to it but hey, I got it in and I was pleased that I pushed myself to complete it. That one’s got the ball rolling and I’m now working on several shorter pieces-some of them are pretty challenging. I’m trying out some flashfiction tasks, which are extremely good for my discipline. One I’m doing is a 100 word limit on any theme but has to have a twist! Not easy, I assure you.

Ooh ooh, actually, on this note I want to share this link because I think it’s great. Check it out:

http://www.txtlit.co.uk/

Basically, this site hosts monthly contests whereby entrants must construct a story the length of a text message. There is a new theme for stories every month and you can win £50+ by sending it to txtlit from a UK mobile. Great one for when you’re sitting on the bus/generally bored. Wondering how it’s possible? Check out their ‘competition results’ link and read the works of previous winners

Anyway, where was I? I can’t actually think of much else. In more general news there have been some lovely meals out lately and a few parties here and there. It’s birthday season now lol. Last Friday, Jon and I went to my dearest ol’ pal Charlotte’s sister Steph’s 18th (got that? lol) which was a TV/film/cartoon themed fancy dress bash. After a whole lot of costume problems and faff, I managed to rustle up a pretty awesome Alice in Wonderland ensemble in the end (if I do say so myself!) Thus, I matched Jon’s ghostbuster overalls perfectly (Again, I’ll post some pics.) It’s made me want to do fancy dress more often-it was great fun! This weekend is Tom’s 22nd and we’re off to Liverpool as per, which I’m looking forward to!

Annnnd also, in a few weekends time, Jon and I are flitting of to see our good friend, the Capital! I seriously cannot WAIT! I’m even excited about the Costa coffee on the roadtrip down haha! Hopefully we’re gonna manage to catch a couple of shows. As usual, the main point of going is to see Wicked again (number 8 ) Jon wants to see Kerry Ellis as before she leaves and I wasn’t going to stay at home was I? We want to try and make Les Mis too. Really hoping the weather will be nice because my oh my, it has been looovely since the clocks went forward! It’s been chilly but it really makes me feel so much better and happier when it’s bright and sunny-even when not upto going out in it!

On a final note of intention for the site (yeah I know, they don’t seem to get me very far lately but at least I’ll have more chance if I actually remember what they are,) I think the next goal is to get the site boosted a bit…I’m thinking more to look at on the other pages, followed by working on boosting hits and search engine results! Oh and while I’m talking about this, thank you Jon for ‘network uberduding’ my site onto a new server swifly…for I wouldn’t have had a clue of how to do it myself!

Til’ soon,

Eek, I haven’t posted in weeks…

Well I didn’t get the DWP job sadly. I wasn’t convinced that I wanted it really but as I keep saying, I’m feeling the pressure to get ANY job just now so success would have chilled me out a bit. I also just got another rejection letter-for one I did want…oh well! I really need to get Pitman’s finished but I’ve been so slack in getting any work done…I have no excuse really lol but after Sing Live is over with I am really going to crack down on job hunting and Pitman training!

I can’t BELIEVE Sing Live will be over after the weekend! I think it’s going to be a shock to the system, one performance being the lot. I’m having a mixture of feelings because I’m SO excited for Saturday but already worrying about what I’m going to do with myself when it’s over!! Rehearsals are going well…I went back to getting randomly nervous and then being fine and decided I couldn’t take any risks this being my first performance on this scale, so the doctor has prescribed me some very mild beta blockers (I can’t have full dosage due to the thyroxine I take…) They seem to be working wonders. I still get as nervous but they seem to help the visable effects like physical and vocal shaking and palm sweating, so now I can have the ‘good nerves’ and eliminate the bad’ns-HOPEFULLY!! We’re having a full run-through rehearsal tonight in Liverpool with all the solos in place so it’ll be our first time singing everything to an ‘audience’ so fingers crossed it’ll go well!

Ermm other news…it was Grace (one of my best mates)’s birthday on Friday and we went out in Liverpool on the Saturday night (which was also Valentine’s Day.) It was sooo long since I went on a night out and it was brilliant! We went to Alma de Cuba and then Revolution and got home at about 3:30am. Sadly nobody took a blimmin camera lol so there was no general opportunities for pouting and so forth Jon and I were hoping to go out for a meal or something yesterday to celebrate Valentine’s but it turned out we were too poor lol but it didn’t matter because we cooked up some AWESOME steaks and stuff instead…he got me some beautiful roses&lillies and also a digital photo frame which has mp3 and that you can watch films on and everything! Awesome…we actually agreed to just get token gifts but that plan seemed to go out of the window, I’m not exactly sure when!!

Ooh and yes, I got my Wii! I love the thing and have been playing on it a lot…I haven’t been too good at keeping up the Wii Fit over the last few days though-better get back on it!

Anyway, I’m really going to try to post again before Saturday-maybe on Friday if I have time…I’m off to to hairdresser for a preen and then I expect out for dinner but it’d be cool to document how I’m doing…and then again afterwards! Either way, I’ll try hard not to neglect for so long in the future…I need to put something on Penny Candy too as it still only contains one post lol-in my defence, I haven’t been able to shop much lately!

Hello all!

Time for an update, me thinks-although there’s not a whole lot to report really. I have just been upto the usual for the most part-singing, writing-correction- trying to write, seeing Jon…all that jazz!

It was the 3rd Sing Live soloist rehearsal last Wednesday and I was really happy with how it went. I felt I was much more confident and just generally better than in the last rehearsal. We finally learnt the Hairspray harmonies in detail which was a relief-although they still need a lot of work! Chess was better too-I managed to relax into it a lot more than usual…there were some teething problems with the accompaniment as the pianist was a stand-in and he seemed to be struggling slightly but he did a very good job considering he wasn’t well aquainted with the myriad of music he had to deal with! I feel a bit worried though because I feel like it’s all a bit of a gamble with me where nerves are concerned at the moment…sometimes I get up there and start singing and just can’t relax and I can hear it so much in my voice and sometimes I totally chill out and it goes totally smoothly. It’s so annoying because I know when I’m doing it right and how it needs to be but then another time I’ll get nervous again and I can’t seem to recreate the feeling. I know I can get the notes, I know I can sing the song but if it’s an unfamiliar environment or people I just lose it, so I’m worried that the show itself is going to be a problem, no matter how much I rehearse! The problem doesn’t just lie there, even in lessons I seem to have the same thing. I had my lesson with Matt today and I was singing For Good from Wicked-a song I have sung a billion times-and yet I was all over the place until I settled into it about the third time I sang it-I don’t know why this is…it’s like this mental block I have to get over. I’m so worried I won’t get over it by next month and will come off stage knowing it didn’t sound like I wanted and wishing I could do it again…just like my audition! Sorry…ramble ramble but it’s just really niggling away at me-I feel helpless to do a whole lot about it!

I spose the next biggest news is my new toy!! I bought a Wii at the weekend. Probably not a particularly sensible purchase given my lack of funds at the moment but anywho! I really wanted to get Wii Fit asap because I’m desperate to get some exercising done and shift a bit of weight. The weather is just so bad and I feel so stupid running around the block that I just can’t kick myself into action (I know, I know-bad excuse quite possibly!) I vow to stick to a hardcore Wii Fit regime though! This means doing the exercises that actually will burn the fat. I also hope that starting a good bit of exercise now will improve my breathing where singing is concerned and make me less likely to come down with a cold before the big night (you’ve know idea how paranoid I am about this-I haven’t had one this winter yet *touches all the wood in sight.*) My Dad’s been doing well with dieting lately, which has been making me eat better so that’s a start-I’m wondering if he’ll take to the Wii Fit as well! So yeah, in a nut shell, I was a little impatient and went out and bought it now rather than waiting a few weeks which I would have otherwise done…which would have been much more kind on my bank balance. So now, I’m a prisoner really for a few weeks-there’ll be very little going out and spending…anything, except what I absolutely have to for a good while-but hopefully it will be worth it! This means a whole lot of cabin fever-I want a job so badly!

I do have the one prospect lined up…I passed the tests I mentioned in my last post for the DWP job, so I have an interview for that post on Friday! I’m hoping that will go well but the competition is set to be pretty stiff because there are at least 20 applicants-for the one position I think! But hey, you never know I suppose and I will certainly be giving it my best shot!

So, I (FINALLY) started singing lessons on Monday! I feel like all I do lately is sing and sleep (can’t complain!) The lesson was great, although 30 minutes doesn’t half fly by! Matt is such a good teacher-he’s really nice and very enthusiastic! We spent most of my first lesson looking at I Know Him So Well. I seem to be getting more and more of a mental block with it-I have no idea why! In the last Sing Live solo rehearsal I was so much more nervous than the first one and Richard picked up on it. I am now starting to fear the big notes so I get shakier the more I near them. I don’t know what the problem is-the notes aren’t BIG they’re just bigger and longer than the others. As Matt pointed out, they’re well within my range. It’s a bit of a relief to be having the lessons because I did feel much better after coming away. Matt’s given me all sorts of technical bits and pieces to think about just from the top of his head…it’s a lot to take in but at least it means I can get used to thinking about everything at once and hopefully it’ll all progress together naturally. I prefer his approach to learning one thing at a time because otherwise-where do you start?! It’s all going to take a lot of practise, but for now I’m mainly concentrating on breathing from my diapragm, resonance and keeping my head in one place!! lmao. I relaxed into singing the piece during our lesson and felt a lot better, however when I came to practise today it was a different matter! I know when I’m not relaxing and just letting the notes come, however I don’t seem capable of doing anything about it once I’ve noticed as yet-it’s all very random, I need more control.

Aside from that, of course, the Sing Live rehearsals have been continuing. Things are coming along well. Alan was our stand-in pianist the other day and he’s actually more involved in some of the other companies. North West (or is it Northern?) are doing the same concert as us in a couple of weeks and he’s been closely involved with them. He was very complimentary about how we were doing so I guess that’s a good sign! We’ve got a few pretty much off the book now-My Fair Lady and Spamalot, Starlight pretty much aswell…Chess is well on the way, as well as Wicked. We’ve been given a line of Defying Gravity back, which is nice-haha, whatever we can get…we all got a bit excited when that was mentioned because we thought we got to sing the whole thing, but no such luck. Having said that though, the ensemble really do sound good and I think they’ll do a cracking job of it. My main problem at the moment is not dancing along/miming to The Wizard and I and resisting filling in the big #GOOOOD NEEEEWS#’s in No One Mourns the Wicked…it’s probably just as well that I’m not allowed to sing those though, given that I haven’t got a hope in HELL of getting the notes lol! Tarzan is the big work in progress at the moment, it’s taken ages for us to get going on it so it’s been lingering there and we’ve started to think it’s worse than it is from our CDs I think! It’s actually really nice-we have to do all this jungle sound effecty stuff in the middle, which we had our first go at the other day and it was actually quite impressive I thought!

Other than singing…I have been trying to get back to writing my story for this contest but I am having severe trouble. I’ve written about 1000 of 4000 words now and I’m quite impressed with what I’ve written so far, however, I’m struggling with the plot from here on so it’s a case of sorting that out before I can actually write anymore-and boy oh boy is it confusing me. I’m trying to keep it simple because of the word count-but it’s so hard with writing on a fantasy/magical theme-I don’t know why I thought this was a good first project lol! But hey, hopefully something will come to me-at 5am or some ridiculous hour-my bodyclock is soo messed up at the mo!

The other news is that I have a job interview next week, well kind of, I actually have to do some tests and then they decide if I have an interview…but it’s nice to have something lined up work-wise, it’s starting to really bug me not having a job now, and make me worry!…Anyway, I’m going to wash my hair because I’m off out to the pub in a bit and then to the cinema, which will be nice!

Keep smiling!
